Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Help At Your Door Gala, our largest fundraising event of the year, held at the Brookview in Golden Valley. The evening brought together supporters, volunteers, and community members to connect around a shared purpose: ensuring older adults in the Twin Cities metro can maintain their independence and continue living in their homes.
Throughout the event, guests gained a deeper understanding of Help At Your Door’s impact while engaging with others committed to making aging a positive, supported experience. From meaningful conversations to generous contributions, each part of the evening played an important role in advancing our mission.
We extend our sincere thanks to Kevin Taylor for serving as emcee and guiding the evening’s program, and to Jennifer Martinez for leading the dessert dash, a highlight that inspired strong participation from attendees. We also thank Bill Raker of the AARP Advocacy Team for sharing valuable insights on Minnesota’s aging population and practical steps to support aging in place. Additional thanks to the Skyview Middle School National Junior Honor Society for their assistance with event setup and teardown.
The need for these services remains significant. More than 67% of those we serve live alone, and 74% live at or below the federal poverty level. Funds raised from this event will directly support transportation, grocery assistance, and home support services for seniors.
